Hold Harder On

All the torque in my grip
Wears my weak and weathered wrist
Cracks and stretches
knuckles and tendons
Gives me pause to earthly limitations.

Give me the freedom and strength
Of the Goddess.
She understand me,
Is me.
If there was a Goddess
Whose heart was ever beating,
Full of blood and fleshy.

Make me your servant,
spouting unpopular truths
And standing up for under dogs.
Flipped over fucking strategies
To get the Goddess standing here in front of thee!

Repent and reveal your sins!
Give reverence to the history of humankind
that calls us animals still.
And does not let us lay with similar or same or non- genders?
No evolution.

Fuck me bent on your conclusions!
I am other than.

And you are clearly perfect.

About Jessica Lee

Jessica is a twenty-something poet who performs most of her work on stage in Spoken Word. She has found writing therapeutic since she was child, and has pursued it ceaselessly. She enjoys writing even the most fleeting thoughts and dreams as SensicalRavings. Between long retail shifts, she enjoys writing observational pieces (always with a slant) of locally relevant subjects as ALLGainesville. If you appreciate inspiring, coming-of-age suppositions, become a follower. Though it's not always roses, it's raw!
